Got a whole load of storage boxes and gonna get a cake stand too to display bits and bobs! Even thinking of using an old dolls house to store some paints etc!
anyway made my daddy a card for father's day, here it is:

also finally got around to doing those letters i got from Hobbycraft the other day. I was quite pleased with the results!!

Hobbycraft

Went to Hobbycraft yesterday, the new one in Orpington! was there for hours and loved it (Toby had Joshy) That place is amazing I could stay there for days! I bought a whole load of new arcylic paints in fun colours, some oil pastels, and some mosaic cement. Saw these on the wall so bought the letters to spell 'make' gonna do something similar.....

While at mum and dads I went to an art exhibition and there were some wicked mixed media mosaic pieces so thought I would have a go! I also saw some creative machine embroidery pictures but need to figure out how to use my sewing machine first before attmepting any of that (cant believe it has been up in the spare room since December when I got it!!! ). I cant wait to get started on a mosaic, after the 100 other things.........

painted these for Joshy's room:
cant wait to start designing his new room when we move!!!!

week away

Just had the most lovely week away at my mum and dads...bliss.....I have come home feeling very refreshed and realising that I defo need to spend more time making things!!! I find it so relaxing and rewarding! While I was there I took a photo of the classroom I made my mum for her retirement (she is a teacher), I couldnt get a good photo as it is behind glass and I tried so hard to get rid of the reflection but with no success, but I had a lot of fun making this:

I even made paperclips, erasers and put graffiti on the desks! its not the greatest pic as some of the detail is out of shot but I made a doughnut out of clay and a cup of coffee from glue mixed with pastels. If I ever have a girl I will defo make her a dolls house!

Whilst at mum and dads I rumaged through my nieces old toy box and found a whole loads of unopened playdough! Joshua loves his crafts too although he does seem to be more interested in cars these days!!!!

More previous makes

I wonder if I will post on here several times a day in the future??!!! well I can talk for England!! Anyway wanted to share some other things I have made recently! A few months back I went to a craft fair in Brighton and descovered a new craft called Decopatch. This involves cutting up tiny bits of paper and glue varnishing them to objects, Im hooked! At the fair there was this huge giraffe that was taller than me and someone had put false eyelashes on it too (hmmmm....might do that to the two giraffes in my lounge!) Anyway as my lovely bestest friend in the world Liz moved to Denmark a few weeks ago I decided to try out the decopatch on a notebook for her to record her thoughts while she was away...
here it is:

I was very pleased with the results and I think she appreciated it too! you cant quite see it here but Hans Christian Andersen has a 'David Beckhamesque' diamond studded earring!!
Last year I also made her a nappy cake for her baby shower, the photo isnt that good but I loved making this one!

The Royal Wedding this year was also a great excuse for me to get making but I didnt get the chance to make half the stuff I wanted to....I was up half the night making the cakes.....

Until next time....what will I make next!!??? with a list of 112 things it's very hard to choose!!!!!

Things I have made so far

Hello again,
I have a room jam packed with craft materials but amazingly I have actually made very little! My facination with craft and design started when I was a child. At the age of 4 whilst waiting in a doctors surgery I drew a picture of my house. I had included minute little details like the bricks, flowers, bees, letter box, patterned curtains etc and a man walked over to take a look. He was taken aback at how well I could draw for a child so young and remarked that I might be an architect one day. Well at the time all I wanted to do was work in the post office becasue I wanted to stamp things and count money by flicking through it after licking my finger! (oh what aspirations!). From the detailed designs I drew of my bedroom and it's furniture, to the elaborate menus for the cafe I started in the garage, my mum always thought I would grow up to be a designer. She dreaded 'Blue Peter' as it would mean that she would have to rummage through the house to find the empty box, bottle, card, sticky tape etc needed to make the object they would show you how to make each day. To me, the washing up liquid never ran out, we didn't use enough toilet roll and didn't eat enough eggs to feed my habit!
Anyway the years went by and after doing Art GCSE and A level I took the scientific path into psychology and ended up a teacher. Before I knew it I had no time for my creativity!
Little did I know that during the dark despair that was pregnancy I would rediscover this passion. And I did it big style, making 70 xmas cards for my friends and family!

Here are a few examples:

From then I was hooked!
Hobbycraft became my second home (once it had been River Island) and my study became my craft room.
And so there it is, a room full of unfinished projects! I will eventually put them on here, one day, when I find some time to finish them!

first post

Hello world, this is all very scary, feel like I am behind the times as this is the first time I have set up a blog! Thought I would find out what it's all about! Wanted somewhere to talk about craft, display my makes (did you see what I did with my name!??) and just get stuff off my chest!
I wrote a list today (on the recommendation of a book I am reading 'What do I do when I want to do everything' by Barbara Sher http://www.amazon.co.uk/What-When-Want-Everything-Revolutionary/dp/1405093412/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322602344&sr=8-1) of all the things I want to do....as I always feel that there is never enough time to complete everything I want to achieve so mostly I sit overwhelmed and don't do anything! This blog is the start of my journey into achieving the things I want to. Anyway the list has 112 things on it and I am still adding to it! Starting a blog was one of them so I guess I am achieving from day 1! That's it for the first time I will be back again when I figure out how this thing works!
